One way to avoid knee pain in Diamond is to work with the top leg straight. Be sure to work with your leg straightened directly from the hip. You will then want to lift and lower the leg in this straight position. Alternatively, you could try working with your lower leg on the ground as this can create more stability for the hips. In addition, whenever you experience discomfort, we’d recommend pausing, breathing, and starting again once the discomfort subsides. Reps are only effective as long as you’re feeling connected with them.
