Here are some tips that may help you with Carousel Horse:
To set up, check that your front knee is over your front ankle and your back knee is underneath your back hip point.
When you move, try to keep your front leg still with the knee stacked over the ankle; it shouldn’t pass your front toes.
You can also work higher and smaller (your back leg won't move as much).
All of these things should help ease any knee discomfort you're experiencing. Recently we did a posture deep dive with an animated video on Carousel Horse. Check the article out for more information on form!If you are still experiencing discomfort in Carousel Horse, Power Leg and Incline Seated Chair are great substitutes since both positions work the front and back side of the leg.
